We Have Yet To Catch A Leprechaun

photo-5

For the second year in a row, we didn’t catch the St. Paddy’s Day Leprechaun that comes to our house. We know he was here because he switched all our whole grain cereals for Lucky Charms, he peed in the toilet, and he made our milk green.

This year’s trap was a much simpler idea than last year’s trap. Niamh wanted to put duct tape down so that he would get stuck when walking toward the bowl of shiny gold coins and York Peppermint Pattys. This was something that her group did last year at her afterschool program. Last year, the Leprechaun’s shoes stuck to the tape, but the little rascal just took off his shoes and got away. So, she remedied that with a sign that asked him to take off his shoes.

Looks like what happened is he took off his shoes and in his stocking feet walked over the bridge toward the shiny loot. If you look closely at the picture you can see the fuzz from his white socks stuck to the tape. His socks just didn’t stick enough to the tape to trap him like a fly on fly paper.

I’ve got some ideas for next year. I’m not listening to the kids anymore. I’m more Irish than they are. I’m 100% Irish and they’ve been tainted by Steve’s DNA. I’m going to trap him in a box of Irish Oatmeal. You just wait and see.

Take off your shoes is genius, but Leprechauns don't listen! And Steve's DNA is a wee bit Irish, but a lot bit sneaky so let Niamh run with the sneaky irish charm and I'll bet she will catch Mr. Leprechaun and Elfa making out on your new sofa.

This is an easy one. Swap out the Peppermint Patty's for Peppermint Schnapps...Lushy Leprechauns drinks, he stumbles, he snoozes...he's yours.

And think what base he'd get to with Elfa if a little booze were involved. See, alcohol really does solve all problems and make everything better.
